Meet Ali
Before becoming a Massage Therapist I was a busy Account Executive working long hours with little time for self-reflection or leisure time. A life changing event challenged me to re-evaluate my greatest interests and what type of work I would find truly satisfying. The process landed me at the Baltimore School of Massage and I have never looked back. Upon graduation I passed the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).
I had only experienced therapeutic massage a few times before going to massage school. What amazed me was the transformative effects it had not only on my physical body but also how it left me with a feeling of centeredness and calm. The results affected me so greatly that I was inspired to go back to school and share this work with others.
Once out of school, I had the good fortune of meeting up with a wonderful Chiropractor in Laurel, MD. Dr. Donna Carr of Performance Family Chiropractic, truly helped me get my business up and running. I will be forever grateful for her support in getting my business established in the Laurel area. Years later I expanded business into Crownsville/Severna Park, MD. area to work with clients closer to home. Today, I offer my therapy in both locations.
My basic training at the Baltimore School of Massage included education in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release. Keeping my license current requires me to continue to learn and evolve as a therapist (something I’m passionate about)! Over the years I have studied Acupressure, Reflexology, Sports Massage, Active Isolated and Facilitated Stretching, Trigger Point Therapy, Medical Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Massage for Chronic Pain Conditions, Massage for the Breast Cancer Patient, Pregnancy Massage, Ortho-Bionomy, Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki. Additionally, I have taken classes classes with concentration on the neck, back, shoulder girdle, upper and lower extremities and the hips.
My philosophy about massage therapy and my treatment protocol is this:
I treat the individual. We will discuss your needs, likes, dislikes and will devise a course of treatment uniquely suited for you. I encourage communication about what pressure feels right to you so that we can get you the optimal results in our session. I charge only for the time I spend with you, regardless of the forms of treatment and massage being used.
I invite you to come in to explore how I can help you get in touch with your mind and body, and allow me to help you facilitate restoring your health and wellbeing!
When not at work you will find me researching all things health related, boating, enjoying the outdoors and spending precious time with loved ones.
